Need password protected folder ?

Do you need to password protected your folder. There are several ways to do that but always remember (#1) there is no such thing as 100% protected file, try google for "password crack tools" and see what you get. (#2)Password protected folder can still be deleted. And (#3) never forget the password you have created.

1.Encrypt the selected folder you wish to protect.This is how to do it if you're using winxp professional with multiple account:

i. Select the folder to encrypt.
ii. Right-click the folder and click Properties.
iii. Click the Advanced button.
iv. Check "Encrypt contents to secure data" option.
v. Click Apply and then Ok.

Personally I just save my document in "mydocument" with password user account.

2.Compressed the file zip archive and password protected it. I use 7zip for this.

3.Use axcrypt, below is some of the features of axcrypt:

* Double-click to edit/view with any application.
* Automatic re-encryption after modification.
* Absolutely no user configuration necessary or possible before use.
* Open source under GNU General Public License.
* 7 languages in one executable distribution.
* Extensive command-line interface for scripting and programming.

Mind Your Pronunciation

Pronunciation atau sebutan dalam bidang IT dan perkomputeran dikalangan orang Malaysia taklah teruk sangat, sebab rata-rata orang Malaysia ni, boleh tahan english nya. Maklum le dari darjah satu dah belajar english. Bagi saya sebutan taklah penting mana, kalau setakat berbual sebagai "layman" tapi kalau nak ujian lisan atau temuduga kerja sebagai juruanalisa sistem atau programmer kenalah pastikan sebutan satu-satu term tu tepat.

Okay, kita tengok beberapa contoh. Pertama LINUX , ada yang sebut li - nuks dan ramai yang sebut li - naks, mana yang betul. Saya tak kisah dan Linus Torvald, pengasas linux pun tak kisah. Jom tengok video linux pronunciation oleh Linus sendiri.

Mencuba Linux Distro

Trying a various Linux Distro is fun and you don't have to be geek to try out any. I prefer a smaller size of distro with minimum hardware requirement. Theres a lot of linux livecd nowadays, so we have plenty of distos to try. Just download the iso image and burn it. Set your PC to boot from CD and voila , you got yourself a linux machine.

Mencuba berbagai linux distro adalah sesuatu yang menyeronokkan. Saya suka mencuba distro yang bersaiz kecil dan keperluan hardware yang rendah. Dengan semakin banyak jumlah linux livecd di internet, lebih banyaklah distro yang boleh dicuba. Livecd yang kecil dengan hardware requirement rendah yang pernah saya cuba termasuk DamnSmallLinux, DamnSmallLinuxNot, Puppy , vectorlinux dan beberapa lagi. Selain dari itu Reactos juga pernah saya cuba.

Beberapa tahun yang lalu, apa yang saya lakukan ialah dengan download imej iso distro tersebut, burn ke CD, set bios komputer supaya boleh boot dari CD dan start komputer. Kemudian, saya cuba pula boot distro dari USB pendrive. Sekarang saya lebih suka menggunakan mesin virtual sperti virtualbox dan qemu, lebih mudah, cepat dan kos yang rendah. Kos yang rendah, sebab tak perlu burn CD .. walaupun CD kosong tak le mahal manapun.
